Hollywood composer John Powell presents his very first concert in Prague! You will listen to music from animated movies HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, blockbusters SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, thriller THE BOURNE IDENTITY, action movie MR. & MRS. SMITH as well as a new animated movie FERDINANDJohn Powell is currently one of the greatest composers in Hollywood. He has recieved the Oscar nomination for his beautiful score from How To Train Your Dragon. Program and performers are subject to change.

Composers and musicians Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (of S U R V I V E) will perform their soundtrack which has become one of the biggest pop culture phenomenon. Director Ridley Scott is famous artist who created many successful movies. He directed a first chapter of the iconic horror saga ALIEN (music by Jerry Goldsmith). He also directed GLADIATOR (Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard), KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (Harry Gregson-Williams) and 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE (Vangelis). Scott’s science fiction movie THE MARTIAN prooves that Scott is still one of the best directors of Hollywood. Film Music Prague Festival will celebrate the legacy of Ridley Scott. His collaborator, composer Harry Gregson-Williams, will be a special guest. Program and performers are subject to change.

Film Music Prague Festival presents a charity concert of classical works from famous Hollywood composers! John Powell, who has recieved an Oscar nomination, will present his monumental oratorio A PRUSSIAN REQUIEM. This masterpiece is remembering The Great War. Young rising stars Petr Nekoranec (tenor) and Boris Prýgl (baritone) will take solo parts in this oratorio. You will also listen to the European premiere of piano concerto RUIN & MEMORY from Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore. (He has scored Lord of the Rings movie saga.) Ukrainian pianist Valentina Lisitsa will perform as a soloist. And finally, we are honored to present SONG FOR WORLD PEACE, composed by legendary John Williams.

This is a charity concert. Festival supports an education of children in areas where the environment is damaged by war or natural disaster. Program and performers are subject to change.

MATRIX LIVE – Film in Concert for very first time in Prague. Huge symphony orchestra and choir will be conducted by composer DON DAVIS, accompanied by screening of this iconic science fiction movie in the 4K resolution. Upcoming Czech premiere presents 90 professional musicians in the orchestra and 50 singers in the choir, performing an amazing soundtrack from The Matrix. This is not just a cinema. It is unique concert experience!

Before this concert, there will be a panel discussion with composer Don Davis. Panel starts at 6:30pm. Concert ticket allows to attend the panel.

MUSIC FROM THE STUDIO GHIBLI FILMS OF HAYAO MIYAZAKI celebrates the illustrious partnership between acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi and beloved filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (Academy Award Winner, Best Animated Feature Film 2002, Spirited Away). As longstanding friends and collaborators, Hisaishi and Miyazaki have worked together for over thirty years, including nine films from renowned production house Studio Ghibli. In this concert production, Joe Hisaishi’s celebrated scores– including those from Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and the Oscar-winning Spirited Away— are performed with a full orchestra and choir, and conducted by Hisaishi himself. The music accompanies montages from Miyazaki’s films, bringing the timeless work of Hisaishi and Miyazaki to vivid new life. Program is subject to change.
