Hollywood composer John Powell presents his very first concert in Prague! You will listen to music from animated movie series HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (including the newest film with title THE HIDDEN WORLD). Program also includes FERDINAND, blockbusters SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, thriller THE BOURNE IDENTITY, action movie MR. & MRS. SMITH and many moreJohn Powell is currently one of the greatest composers in Hollywood. He has recieved the Oscar nomination for his beautiful score of How To Train Your Dragon. Program and performers are subject to change.

Composers and musicians Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (of S U R V I V E) will perform their soundtrack, which has become one of the biggest pop culture phenomenon. Saturday program of the Film Music Prague Festival 2019 is offering two big productions for one ticket! Immediately after The Music of Stranger Things concert, Finnish performer Kebu starts his show Kebu: The Master of Synths. Kebu has created many successful covers and tracks, inspired by famous producers like Giorgio Moroder or Vangelis. Kebu is using analogue synthesizers only. His live peformance is terrific not only for listening. Kebu has recieved many prestigous awards, for example “Best Artist” of Schallwelle Music Awards.

Film Music Prague Festival presents first concert of series called “LEGENDS”. It will be a tribute to director Ridley Scott, who has created great scifi-horror ALIEN (Jerry Goldsmith) as well as GLADIATOR (Hans Zimmer, Lisa Gerrard), KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (Harry Gregson-Williams) and 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE (Vangelis). Scott is also an author of science fiction movies BLADE RUNNER (Vangelis) and THE MARTIAN (Harry Gregson-Williams), which confirms that he is one of the best directors in Hollywood. Our festival will celebrate a legacy of Ridley Scott. His collaborator, British composer Harry Gregson-Williams will be a special guest of this concert. He will introduce a world premiere of suite from EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS. Program and performers are subject to change.

Film Music Prague Festival presents a charity concert of classical works from famous Hollywood composers! John Powell, who has recieved an Oscar nomination, will present his monumental oratorio A PRUSSIAN REQUIEM. Young rising opera stars Petr Nekoranec (tenor) and Boris Prýgl (baritone) take solo parts. You will also listen to the European premiere of piano concerto RUIN & MEMORY from Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore. (He has scored Lord of the Rings movie saga.) Ukrainian pianist Valentina Lisitsa will perform this concerto. And we are honored to present SONG FOR WORLD PEACE, composed by multiple Oscar-winner John Williams. Festival supports UNICEF CZ and its educational projects. Program and performers are subject to change.

MATRIX LIVE – Film in Concert for very first time in Prague. Huge symphony orchestra and choir will be conducted by composer DON DAVIS, accompanied by screening of this iconic science fiction movie in the 4K resolution. Upcoming Czech premiere presents 90 professional musicians in the orchestra and 50 singers in the choir, performing an amazing soundtrack from The Matrix. This is not just a cinema. It is unique concert experience!

Before this concert, there will be a panel discussion with composer Don Davis. Panel starts at 6:30pm. Concert ticket allows to attend the panel.

MUSIC FROM THE STUDIO GHIBLI FILMS OF HAYAO MIYAZAKI (afternoon concert) celebrates the illustrious partnership between acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi and beloved filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (Academy Award Winner, Best Animated Feature Film 2002, Spirited Away). As longstanding friends and collaborators, Hisaishi and Miyazaki have worked together for over thirty years, including nine films from renowned production house Studio Ghibli. In this concert production, Joe Hisaishi’s celebrated scores– including those from Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and the Oscar-winning Spirited Away— are performed with a full orchestra and choir, and conducted by Hisaishi himself. The music accompanies montages from Miyazaki’s films, bringing the timeless work of Hisaishi and Miyazaki to vivid new life. Program is subject to change.
